Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does the weekly schedule look like for Intro? Intro participants will be actively involved at the IHOP Atlanta Missions Base at least 40 hours per week. Ten of these hours will be spent in the area of helps ministries, including administrative tasks, cleaning, child care, etc. At least twenty hours each week will be spent in the prayer room in times of corporate intercession, personal study, and devotional worship. The remaining hours will be used for teaching, training, and community building. What is the Housing Situation for Intro Participants? Married couples and families are responsible for finding their own housing arrangements. Singles may apply for accommodations in IHOP Atlanta's intern housing condominiums. Housing for single Intro participants is only offered if there is space available and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The IHOP Atlanta condominiums residents are grouped by gender. Each condominium is fully furnished and will accommodate between 6 to 8 individuals. Residents who are participating in other IHOP Atlanta internships will be under the supervision of Resident Assistants, but RA's will not be provided for Intro participants. All those in IHOP Atlanta housing will be expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the Housing Department, which will include regular inspections of each residence. Alcohol and tobacco products are not permitted. How do I Apply for IHOP Atlanta Housing? If you are single, you may fill out the Housing Application and send it in the same envelope as your Intro Application. Do I Need a Car? All Intro participants must provide their own reliable transportation. Exceptions are possible with prior approval. All personal vehicles must have valid insurance coverage. Do I Need a Laptop Computer? Much of the day-to-day communication in the IHOP Atlanta community takes place over the Internet through e-mail. It is highly recommended that Intro participants have at least one laptop computer per family in order to journal, study, and communicate. We have found that a laptop is very useful in the ongoing study of the Scriptures. Laptops should have a wireless network card and a Bible study program. What Personal Expenses Should I Expect? You are responsible for providing the necessary personal finances to cover your food, housing, social activities, and any other personal expenditures during the program. Are There Any Other Rules for Intro Participants? You are expected to be free of any personal addictions (to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, pornography, etc.) before applying for Intro. Due to the intensity of this program, it is recommended that you be free from any such addictions for at least six months prior to your arrival. Our desire is for Intro participants to be able to focus their undivided attention upon the Lord, rather than struggling with frequent temptations in the area of a recently-overcome addiction. Attendance during all scheduled Intro hours is required in order to remain in the program. Exceptions will be made for illnesses and family emergencies. Will I be Able to Have a Part-time Job During Intro? Because your time will be scheduled for at least 40 hours each week, holding down a part-time job during Intro would be difficult. It is recommended that you have enough finances to cover all of your expenses for the three-month duration of Intro before starting the program. If you decide to attempt a part-time job during Intro, your work must be planned so as not to conflict with the Intro schedule. Are Children Allowed to Participate in Intro? Teenagers may be enrolled in Intro if at least one of their parents is enrolled, though parents should consider whether or not the teenage child is mature enough to handle an intense, 40-hour-per-week schedule. While on the IHOP Atlanta Missions Base, or during any scheduled Intro events, teenagers under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent at all times. Children under the age of thirteen may not be enrolled in Intro. At this time, we are unable to offer childcare for children less than one year of age. Children this age are under their parents care and are certainly welcome to be in class where and when appropriate. Two options are available for childcare for ages 1-12. For specific questions about childcare options, please email us. During times when childcare is not available, children from 1-12 may accompany their parents for scheduled Intro activities provided that the children are able to be present without becoming a distraction to others. For costs associated with childcare options, visit the program costs page. Are Meals Provided in the Cost of the Program? No, all Intro participants will be responsible for buying and preparing their own meals. How Much Does Intro Cost? For more information, please visit the program costs page. |

GSM: The Book of Daniel8/2/2010 6:00pm - 8:00pmThe book of Daniel is to the Old Testament what the book of Revelation is to the New Testament. The book details many familiar stories, such as: Daniel's three friends in the fiery furnace, Nebuchadnezzar's insanity, and Daniel in the lion's den. Yet the book of Daniel is much more than just a collection of great stories, it is a book that testifies of the Most High God as the "Revealer of Mysteries" (Dan 2:47) and powerfully exhibits the sovereignty of God (Dan 2:21). The Book of Daniel is one of the most foundational studies on the subject of the end times. Anyone who has a desire to gain insight into dreams, visions and the realm of the prophetic, as well as understand the activity of the end of the age is invited to come and gain "skill to understand" (Dan 9:22). Staff Intercession Meeting8/3/2010 4:00pm - 6:00pmTuesday is a designated prayer and fasting day for IHOP Atlanta staff and family. Full-time staff are required to attend the 4 p.m. and an additional intercession meeting on Tuesday. Part-time staff are required to attend only the 4 p.m. intercession meeting.
